Meet the Team

Dr. Robbie graduated from NC State School of Veterinary Medicine is 1998 and shortly thereafter moved back to the Mountains of WNC. After moving back she worked for Cherokee Animal Hospital before starting her own Practice, County Lane Animal Hospital in Clyde, NC. In 2009 Dr. Robbie along with Practice Manager, Kristee Kaye started Cherokee Animal Care Clinic in Whittier, NC. 

Dr. Robbie is accomplished in all facets of Veterinary Medicine. She is a very skilled surgeon and also enjoys large/farm animal and exotic medicine. She lives in Whittier with her husband Rusty, 9 year old daughter Aerin, 2 cats (Nigel & Finley), 1 Great Pyrenees (Jack) and the Whippet that all clients love, Windy. 

Dr. Robbie will predominantly still being seeing her patients in Whittier, but will be at Bryson Animal Care Clinic 1 day per week.  

Kristee, along with Dr. Robbie teamed up together in May of 2009 to open Cherokee Animal Care Clinic in Whittier, NC. Before CACC opened, Kristee was an active Paso Fino Horse breeder and exhibitor. She and her family still own a large Paso Fino show horse farm in Cullowhee. 

'I am very excited about expanding Cherokee Animal Care Clinic to Bryson City, with Bryson Animal Care Clinic. We plan on offering the same high quality, loving medical care at our new facility as we have always offered in Whittier. We look forward to seeing everyone!'

Dr. Gibson joined our team in 2013 and is a 1996 graduate of LSU's College of Veterinary Medicine. Following graduation she returned home to practice at a small animal clinic in Pensacola, FL. After eleven years she decided it was time for a change and came to the beautiful mountains of North Carolina. 'I have a passion for small animal general practice with special interests in dermatology and feline medicine. 

'My husband and I are currently raising 3 cats and 1 dog.  During my free time, I enjoy landscaping and refurbishing our home, as well as exploring and enjoying beautiful Western North Carolina.'

We have been fortunate enough to have Amanda as our Head Veterinary Technician since we opened in 2009.  She lives in Cherokee with her husband Elliot, 13 year old son, EJ and fur-babies Beau, Sully, Sam and Treymont.

 Amanda will predominantly be at our Whittier location. 

Kristin has been a vital part of the Cherokee Animal Care family for over 8 years. We are very fortunate to have her as the Practice Manager of both locations. 

Kristin is a member of the Eastern Band of Cherokee and lives wit her husband, Brent and daughter Emeryson in Cherokee.

Jena has been with us since 2013 and took a brief hiatus to work and live on an actual 'Dude Ranch' in Wyoming! We have been fortunate enough to have her back with us at our Bryson location, where she will be the lead receptionist. Jena is an avid horse woman and lives in Bryson City with her husband, Dallas.

We were so excited when Amie decided to join our clinic in the Summer of 2019! Amie is an avid animal lover, with many 'fur babies' at home.  

Mason has been an intricate part of our team for over a year as one of our lead kennel technicians. Mason is in training to become one of our full time receptionists! She will be working at both the Bryson City and Whittier locations.
